The Voice of Truth.

There are so many SITUATIONS that cause us to stress out, ponder the possibilities and wonder if HE really has it all figured out up there.

Sweet Stellan who is battling heart problems.
The unwed mother being judged by her "Christian Friends"
The family whose plan was altered by an injury
The struggling military mommy, with no help nearby, no family to help, no husband here, blessed with a colicky newborn with acid reflux
The couple trying to concieve but enduring the loss of another child
The mother wondering why she cannot have another baby
The family rocked by grief
The family who lost their house and don't know what to do next
The parents who lost their beautiful daughter
The single momma dealing with an angry ex husband and raising a beautiful son
The kids who are sick
The families who live with autism
The families who live without one another

There are so many SITUATIONS that cause to question our faith, question His plan, question this world, question ourselves.

But you know what? A lot of those questions floating through our minds are LIES. Yes, those situations are happening and they are heartbreaking and sometimes I can't make myself think about the pain or I feel it too deeply and it hurts. It hurts to wonder and to question.

The other day I heard the song, The Voice of Truth. It was an encouragement to me and maybe today it will be an encouragement to you too. In fact, after feeling the need to put it out there for someone needing to be reminded of WHAT the Voice of Truth tells us, I realized I was stressing out and QUESTIONING a situation with a million different possibilities. I was reminded that I only need to listen to ONE voice, the Voice of Truth.
Always listening,
Jesi

The Voice of Truth by Casting Crowns

Oh,what I would do to have
the kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown
Where Jesus is,
And he's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name
and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
time and time again
"Boy, you'll never win,
you'll never win."

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
the voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the voice of truth says "this is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh, what I would do
to have the kind of strength it takes
To stand before a giant
with just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound
of a thousand warriors
shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out
my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
time and time again
"Boy you'll never win,
you'll never win."

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
the voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the voice of truth says "this is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

But the stone was just the right size
to put the giant on the ground
and the waves they don't seem so high
from on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
when I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
singing over me

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says "do not be afraid"
And the voice of truth says "this is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)
I will choose to listen and believe (I will choose to listen and believe)
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

I will listen and believe
I will listen and believe the voice of truth
I will listen and believe
'Cause Jesus you are the voice of truth
And I will listen to you.. oh you are

i love that song! and i love that when you take a moment to survey the entire picture, you really can find God in it, no matter how crappy the situation. with aaron's 'alive' anniversary coming up next week, for the last 360 some odd days i many times found myself questioning 'why' and 'where was God' but then i look at aaron and i see where God was. and i look at the lives of those affected and see where God was. He was and still is right here carrying us along the journey of life He has laid out for us. keep your head up, max close to you and your hubby in your heart! you're amazing!
